Therapy for Parents
Raising Children Is an Inexpressible Challenge.
Parenting is something that you just have to experience to truly understand. The kind of concern you feel for a child, the way it challenges you, and the constant self-reflection are all things that you didn’t really have an idea about going in, and it’s hard.
Maintaining your own self while following all of the social, legal, and self-imposed rules about rearing your children—not to mention the rules about what your children do on their own—can be nearly impossible.
Whether you’re a parent-to-be just starting to understand what you’re in for, whether you’re somewhere in the middle with no end in sight, or whether your children are adults and the challenges still haven’t ended, I’ll help you work through it and come out on top.

Therapy for Parents Is Specialized
You have unique challenges and concerns that other people don’t. Here are just a few unique things taking up your focus as a parent:
- Always wondering whether you’re doing the right thing
- Feeling like you’re not good enough because of something you did (or didn’t do)
- Being ashamed or feeling guilty because of something your child did
- Dealing with competing identities and never being satisfied
- Never having enough time for other relationships and personal interests
- Worrying about your child’s future in hundreds of different ways
And that list is far from comprehensive. Each phase of childhood brings different demands from you, and each life change event you go through makes things even more complicated—even when it shouldn’t have. All of this means you benefit that much more from therapy for parents, with a parent.
You don't have to be at a loss anymore.
Reach out and I’ll work with you to get through this, focusing directly on you and your needs. I’m right there in the middle of it with you, and my approach to therapy for parents is designed with you in mind.
We’ll talk about exactly what’s going on and I can give you tools to work through it so you don’t feel so defeated anymore. Together we’ll set up a plan for the future and you’ll learn ways to tackle these parenting challenges and take control of them.
I base my approach to parenting on decades of research by leading scholars, like Bowlby and Ainsworth, Vygotsky, Piaget, Erikson, and Gottman. You will become your own therapist once we finish, better equipped to handle the challenges of parenting on your own.
